The Boardwalk Bag gave us the vision of walking “under the boardwalk”. It is big enough to carry 4 full size beach towels, snacks, and a water bottles easily. It’s roomy but doesn’t look deflated if you are traveling light. It is both beachy and casual yet classy and elegant. Dress it up with a scarf or tassel for dinner or the office. Being that it is woven from recycled plastic it makes it very strong, environmentally friendly, and so washable!

As with all La Canasta bags, they are one-of-a-kind, handmade, and naturally are crafted along a range of dimensions. These are not factory made, so there are slight variations in size.
There are no basket factories in Guatemala. Weavers are all independent and often can work from home, their own personal shops, in a market, or in a co-op space. Many women make baskets in their home. As moms ourselves with children under foot we appreciate being able to do a job that the family is together. We are a family business, from beginning to end! All hands that touch the baskets benefit in some way. From basket makers, to the customer, and for the profits that go back to Guatemala.
