The Boardwalk Bag gave us the vision of walking “under the boardwalk”. It is big enough to carry 4 full size beach towels, snacks, and a water bottles easily. It’s roomy but doesn’t look deflated if you are traveling light. It is both beachy and casual yet classy and elegant. Dress it up with a scarf or tassel for dinner or the office. Being that it is woven from recycled plastic it makes it very strong, environmentally friendly, and so washable!

As with all La Canasta bags, they are one-of-a-kind, handmade, and naturally are crafted along a range of dimensions. These are not factory made, so there are slight variations in size.
There are no basket factories in Guatemala. Weavers are all independent and often can work from home, their own personal shops, in a market, or in a co-op space. Many women make baskets in their home. As moms ourselves with children under foot we appreciate being able to do a job that the family is together. We are a family business, from beginning to end! All hands that touch the baskets benefit in some way. From basket makers, to the customer, and for the profits that go back to Guatemala.

Perhaps you changed your mind because the winds were blowing East and not West. Either way we want to make it right!

Actually a 99.9% guarantee. If you throw it off the roof we shall replace it! We only have one exception to our generous rule: If you let your parrot eat it, we won’t replace it. You have been warned about the parrots. It’s the only thing we have found to do any kind of real damage. Our resident Macaw, Bill, is heading up our quality control department here at La Canasta. He is very, very thorough. Though please don’t include your bag in any crash test dummy testing. Also, don’t try to maim your bag ;) Common sense would tell you that if you try to cut, maim, modify, abuse, burn, drown, microwave or your kid takes sharpies to your bag we won’t be willing to replace. All joking aside, nothing in life is perfect and we don’t want you to worry. Just contact us to discuss. You will only pay for shipping and you can choose any bag of the same style and size.
